Brendan

McGetrick

Brendan McGetrick is a writer, designer and curator. His work has appeared in publications in over thirty countries, including The New York Times, Wired, The Financial Times, Art Review, Der Spiegel, Domus, and Vogue Nippon. He has served as director of Global Grad Show between 2015 and 2018, being its Head of Curation since 2019. He is currently the Creative Director of the Museum of the Future, a visionary cultural institution now under construction in Dubai.

Carlo

Rizzo

Carlo is an independent curator and researcher based between Dubai and Milan. Since 2015 he has developed an interdisciplinary practice focused on the relationship between culture and nature. In 2016 he curated the first presentation of Studio Saraceno's Aerocene in London. And in 2017 he participated to the Antarctic Biennale expedition and the first Antarctic Pavilion during the 57th Venice Biennale. His most recent work, the Wilderness Archive, will be exhibited at the Centro Cultural Palacio de la Moneda (Santiago, Chile) in late 2020.

Outside his curatorial practice, Carlo is an academic researching contemporary Middle Eastern art collections in Western museums and their role in intercultural dialogue and cultural diplomacy. He also runs a boutique advisory firm, Studio Fiorentino, working with governments and art/design organisations in the Gulf and in Europe.

Mohammad Al

Shehhi

Mohammad Saeed Al Shehhi is the CEO of A.R.M. Holding where he is responsible for furthering the vision of the Holding through investments that create opportunities for a brighter future in Dubai and the region.

Mohammad is a strong advocate of youth talent, innovation and education. He previously served as COO and then CEO of Dubai Design District (d3) where he was instrumental in the incredible success of the Global Grad Show. Prior to that, Mohammad was Deputy CEO of Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) and Senior Director of Broadcast & Media Services at Du Telecom Company.

Asfour

Hani Asfour is the Dean of Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation (DIDI). Prior to joining DIDI, the MIT and Harvard-trained architect was an Adjunct Faculty member at the Lebanese American University in Beirut, teaching in the departments of Architecture and Foundation Studies. Asfour’s academic experience also includes teaching positions at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), Northeastern University, American University of Beirut and American University of Sharjah. Recently named as one of the regions 50 most influential architects, he is a Founding Partner of Polypod, an award-winning multidisciplinary collaborative design studio in Beirut, recently awarded Best Community and Cultural Project at the MEA Awards for its Anwar Sabbah Musallah project.

Zeynep

Tulumen

Zeynep Tulumen is an architect and PhD candidate who undertakes research in urban transformations. She finished her studies in Turin and was awarded a double degree from Politecnico di Milano in Architecture. Zeynep has professional and academic experiences in the field.

Zeyenep Tulumen participated at Global Grad Show 2019 with project SpectrumLab. The project was one of the participants in Global Grad Show 2019 Entrepreneurship Programme, receiving training and mentorship to accelerate its development as a startup. Spectrum is one of the recipients of A.R.M. Holding funding that supports Global Grad Show projects to go to market.

Constantin

Boym

Constantin Boym founded his design studio in New York in 1986, together with his partner Laurene Leon. In 2009 Boym Partners won the National Design Award in Product Design. Their work is included in the permanent collection of Museum of Modern Art in New York. Since 2015 Constantin Boym served as Professor and Chair of Industrial Design at Pratt Institute. His most recent book Keepsakes: A Design Memoir was published by Pointed Leaf Press in 2015.

Mathilde

Marengo

Mathilde Marengo is Head of Studies, Faculty and PhD Supervisor at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia’s Advanced Architecture Group (AAG), an interdisciplinary research group investigating emerging technologies for the design and transformation of the cities, buildings and public spaces. A PhD in Urbanism, her research focuses on the Contemporary Urban Phenomenon, its integration with technology, and its implications on the future of our planet. Her investigation is also actuated through her role in national and EU funded research projects, including Innochain, Knowledge Alliance for Advanced Urbanism, BUILD Solutions, Active Public Space and Creative Food Cycles, and more. Her work has been published internationally, as well as exhibited, among others: Venice Biennale, Shenzhen Bi-City Biennale, Beijing Design Week, MAXXI Rome.

Roux

Caroline Roux is a London-based journalist who writes about design, architecture and contemporary art. Her work has appeared regularly in the Financial Times, the Telegraph and the Observer, as well as publications including Vanity Fair, Wallpaper and the New York Times. She has contributed to books on the work of David Adjaye, Richard Rogers, Jaime Hayon and Fredrikson Stallard.

Caroline has been visiting Dubai for over 15 years, reporting on its increasing number of cultural events and urban growth.

Tadeu Baldani

Caravieri

Tadeu Baldani Caravieri is a business professional and entrepreneur who has worked for the past 15 years between Americas, Europe and Middle East in M&A, Strategy and venture building. Tadeu joined the Art Dubai Group in 2015, where he led the business strategy and development practice, subsequently joining Global Grad Show as director and launching its startup programme in 2019. A recipient of INSEAD GEMBA Scholarship for Entrepreneurship, Tadeu is an active member of the international startup ecosystem, having worked with founders to build, fundraise and grow startups since 2014.
