About

A math model to understand the pandemic

What are the variables affecting virus spread and how to predict it?. This project aims to provide a comprehensive network model of the COVID-19, including its geo-spatial patterns. The objective is to create a picture of the virus network on the . micro (city and neighborhood), meso (country) and macroscopic (worldwide) level, supporting the prediction of future outbreak patterns.

  • Prof. Anja Karin Achtziger

    New York University Abu Dhabi (NYU)

    Anja graduated in Psychology in 1997 (Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany) and received her PhD in Psychology in 2003 (University of Konstanz, Germany). She worked as Assistant Professor and temporary Professor of Social Psychology and Motivation at the University of Konstanz. She later moved to the Zeppelin University Friedrichshafen, Germany, there she holds the Chair in Social and Economic Psychology. Since March 2018 she is the speaker of the research unit “Psychoeconomics,” funded by the German Research Foundation. Anja is an associate editor of the Journal of Economic Psychology since January 2019. She is the deputy speaker of the coordination committee of the Consumer Research Network of the Federal Government of Germany appointed by the Minister of Justice and Consumer Protection Heiko Maas in 2015 and by Dr. Katarina Barley in 2018.more

  • Dr. Alain Tcheukam

    New York University Abu Dhabi (NYU)

    Dr. Alain Tcheukam is a research scientist in the transportation infrastructure laboratory at the New York University Abu Dhabi. He received a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from IMT Institute of Advanced Studies in 2013 in Italy. He also worked as a Post doctoral associate at the University of Pisa in 2014. His research interests include crowd flows, smart cities, mean-field-type optimization and transportation networks. Dr. Tcheukam received the Federbim Valsecchi Award 2015 for his contribution in design, modeling, and analysis of smarter cities. Alain’s current research is in the area of area of Transportation Infrastructure Management, with an emphasis on modelling transportation network disruption under sea level rise and developing solutions for improving the sustainability of transportation systems. He is currently collaborating with the Civil Engineering Department of the University of California Berkeley in USA on Infrastructure networks in coastal communities within the San Francisco Bay area.more

  • Giulia Rossi

    New York University Abu Dhabi (NYU)

    Giulia Rossi received the Master degree with summa cum laude in Clinical Psychology in 2009 from the University of Padova. She worked as independent researcher in the analysis and prevention of psychopathological diseases and in the intercultural expression of mental diseases. Her research interests include behavioral game theory, social norms and the epistemic foundations of mean-field-type game theory. She was a research associate in the Learning & Game Theory Laboratory at New York University Abu Dhabi from February 17, 2016 to February 16, 2017. Under the patronage of International Cooperation of Freie University, she has been working from May to August 2018 for the Social and Cultural Anthropology Department, Freie University in collaboration with Professor Thomas Stodulka. Since 2018 she is associate Instructor at the Division of Psychology, New York University Abu Dhabi.more
