INNSAEI

About

Light-based communication for underwater adventure

INNSAEI is a scuba-diving mask designed to make it easier for divers to communicate. Scuba-diving today is still considered to be dangerous; divers get lost, distracted and can face life-threatening situations. With INNSAEI, if two divers separate beyond a recommended safety range, their dive masks flash blue, signalling that they’ve gone too far. With the push of a button, a diver in danger can grab their diving partner’s attention. In cases of emergency, the wearer can call for help by triggering her mask to flash red. Also integrated into the mask are a floatation component and a redesigned skirt that lessens pressure on the diver’s face from underwater currents.
