Interface Reality is a two-part system that translates motions made within a virtual reality environment into images that can be viewed in the real world. In the system’s first part (the 'Interface'), the wearer edits virtual objects and computer-generated animation in their simulated space, using hand gestures detected by an HTC Vive system installed on a PC. When the system recognises gestures, an application sends them to a partnering PC, which translates these virtual objects into images projected on the wall. These images constitute the design’s second part (the 'Reality'). By converting the wearer's virtual experience into visible images, Interface Reality forms a bridge between performer and viewer.
He studied art history in Keio University (Tokyo, Japan) and acquired a bachelor’s degree in 2012. After working in system development at a company, now he specializes in new media art at the master’s course in IAMAS (Gifu, Japan). In 2017, he joined Interface Culture program in Kunstuniverstät Linz (Linz, Austria) as an exchange researcher. With skills pertaining to CG programing frameworks (openFrameworks, Unity etc.), his main focus is “generative art”. He pursues algorithmic beauty and a better relation between audio and visuals.
